SUGBOANONG ALIBANGBANG

Sugboanong Alibangbang is a short science documentary that tells of the status of butterflies in Cebu, based on the works of the Philippine's pioneering lepidopterist, Professor Julian Jumalon.

In less than 50 years, 60% of the total butterfly species can no longer be assessed, where some are feared to be extinct. 

​

It is only the Jumalon Butterfly Sanctuary that stands between butterfly conservation and extinction.

This film was awarded Best Film during the 3rd Indie-Siyensya Filmmaking Contest by the Department of Science and Technology.
